Equine Consumer Reports: Fiebings All-Purpose Boot Cleaner


Fiebing’s All-Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner for boots is a decent, safe cleaner. We never had to worry that it would darken or damage soft, expensive paddock boots and felt safe using it on almost all types of leather footwear.

We didn’t find Fiebing’s All-Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner enhanced the look of the leather at all, but seem confident enough that it will preserve colour. It leaves a bit of a polish, but not enough to stand out.

On the other hand, if you want to feel confident that your leather shoes/boots will be clean and conditioned without damaging the soft leather, Fiebing’s All-Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner is a decent choice.

If you’re worried that your cleaner may be too tough on your expensive boots, you can switch to Fiebing’s All-Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner. However, it wasn’t always tough enough for the dirt. Care should also be taken to wipe completely after use or it may leave white streaks in the creases of the leather.

Fiebing’s All-Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner is very easy to apply and removes surface dirt nicely, even clearing scuff marks that other cleaners had failed to treat. Good for frequent use, it is perfect for those expensive leathers that require “gentle,” just don’t forget to polish before the horse show.
