Equine Consumer Reports: Leather Therapy Wash

Leather Therapy Wash was best performing in its category of cleaners.
While it is common practice to wipe surface dirt from leather before applying cleaner, and is still a good habit when applying Leather Therapy WASH, this step is not necessarily needed when cleaning with Leather Therapy WASH. We found, in almost all cases, Leather Therapy WASH penetrates deep into leather and lifts dirt from pores for easier wiping away. Leather Therapy WASH also seemed to ‘self calculate’ the needed amount of cleaner for the leather. Excess cleaner can be wiped away after cleaning. However, if you apply only the needed amount, leather may not need to be wiped after application.
After cleaning with Leather Therapy WASH, we often found more dirt on our sponge than we’d known had been in our leather. However, even with Leather Therapy WASH, well-packed dirt along threads were often still difficult to remove and an extra application was sometimes needed.
We were pleased to see that Leather Therapy WASH rarely lifts dyes from leather. However, while we feel that Leather Therapy WASH is less likely to fade leather’s colour and preserves longevity, it did not rejuvenate colour or polish regularly cleaned leather as well as other cleaners we tested. That said, for regular use over a prolonged time, we believe Leather Therapy WASH is the best cleaner to maintain and even improve your leather’s long-term condition.
Leather Therapy WASH is effective on all qualities of leather and is very good for increasing the suppleness and condition of old and worn leather.
A little goes a long way with Leather Therapy WASH (providing you rub it onto your leather before it seeps into your sponge). It lathers nicely and when diluted in warm water makes an excellent cleaner for synthetic saddles, nylon, or almost any non-leather equipment in your barn.
We found Leather Therapy WASH to be gentle on leather and one of the best choices for continual use on leather. It even has a pleasant scent. For even better results we recommend following up with Leather Therapy Restorer & Conditioner.
Leather Therapy WASH is more expensive than most brands but, by far, it pays for itself.
